MD782i with “i”in the long model number, not band specific. i.e.:
SUBJECT:
MD782i will be Bricked if Applying Old Codeplug Template Using any CPS Version V9.00.09.400.iM or older.
MODELS / SYSTEMS AFFECTED:
SYMPTOM:
When the user opens an old codeplug template and try to write it into the MD782i, it will brick the radio and radio only shows a blank screen, and continue with the power cycle with green LED on.
CAUSE:
CPS application defect, it writes the old codeplug template into the new hardware version of MD782i and destroy the bootloader section.
RESOLUTION:
- For the radios have been bricked, please use FUD kit A9.00.07.105IM_IN to fix it. (Contact HNA Technical Support)
- Use New CPS version V9.00.09.600.iM to write any existing MD782-000X000-0000a-XX-H-L (Available on Dealer Portal)
- If you have new HW MD782-000X000-00000i you can read the radio and create from scratch a new codeplug that you can write back to the new HW or to any other new HW MD782i.
SEVERITY RECOMMENDTION:
Medium – All the MD782i with “I" hardware version will have this issue, if user tries to write the old codeplug using old CPS; If user just read the radio and write back to the radio, it will be fine.
