MD782i will be Bricked if Applying Old Codeplug Template Using any CPS Version V9.00.09.400.iM or older.

MODELS / SYSTEMS AFFECTED:

[Image: 0?ui=2&ik=bcc380464b&attid=0.0.2&permmsg...g&disp=emb]

SYMPTOM:
When the user opens an old codeplug template and try to write it into the MD782i, it will brick the radio and radio only shows a blank screen, and continue with the power cycle with green LED on.

CAUSE:
CPS application defect, it writes the old codeplug template into the new hardware version of MD782i and destroy the bootloader section.

RESOLUTION:
  1. For the radios have been bricked, please use FUD kit A9.00.07.105IM_IN to fix it. (Contact HNA Technical Support)
  2. Use New CPS version V9.00.09.600.iM to write any existing MD782-000X000-0000a-XX-H-L (Available on Dealer Portal)
  3. If you have new HW MD782-000X000-00000i you can read the radio and create from scratch a new codeplug that you can write back to the new HW or to any other new HW MD782i.

SEVERITY RECOMMENDTION:
Medium – All the MD782i with “I" hardware version will have this issue, if user tries to write the old codeplug using old CPS; If user just read the radio and write back to the radio, it will be fine.
